9 year career as an IT System Admin in education.

In October 2015 I ran into Cryptolocker, run by one of the users. I was always interested in malware, however, this was pretty unique. I felt my security skills were lacking and through various learning nodes like Cybrary, Learnsmart and uCertify I ended up doing the Certified Ethical Hacker v8 course. I’m still crying inside.

Needless to say, I’ve come a long way since October 15. I never thought I’d be doing CTF’s, hacking missions and meeting up with extremely talented individuals to bounce ideas off.

I did a lot of tinkering as a child. Hardware hacking with electronics in college as a teen and it’s never really left me. I just got distracted.

Now I’m training in Pen Testing and it’s where I’m happiest. Other than that I’ve been playing the guitar for 20 years, I used to be a semi-pro photographer and nature is the best medicine anyone could ever hope for.

  1. Hey, great blog! Quick question, are you based in the UK? If so do you have any issues getting to the hackthissite.org? VirginMedia seems to have blocked it?

  2. Hi,

I just wanted to drop you a quick message after discovering your blog through from another pen testing blog (RawHex). Coming from a similar background as yourself in the U.K. IT scene, I have a huge passion for infosec coupled with the desire to progress into pen testingas a career. If you have time could I drop you an email so I could ask you a few questions? Other than that I just wanted to say the blog posts are brilliant and I look forward to reading more in the future! Oh and congratulations on the OSCP…What an amazing feat!

    All the best,
